Fraser was one of two plumbing and pipe trades students from 窪蹋勛圖厙 who attended the held this year in Winnipeg. The event is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country.

Getting the chance to showcase everything I have learned on the job and in the classroom at a national competition was an incredible opportunity, says Fraser. Thank you to the faculty at Camosun for their support at the provincial and national competitions.

Apprentice Krista Buzzeo competed in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Both apprentices received provincial gold in April at the British Columbia final in Abbotsford.

Were incredibly proud of both students who made it to nationals and had the opportunity to represent Camosun and their home province, says Darren Vaux, Chair of thePipe Trades Department at 窪蹋勛圖厙. The competition was tough as it is every year and it felt great to be able to bring home a gold medal.

窪蹋勛圖厙 is home to the largest trades school on Vancouver Island with approximately 2,500 students in almost 30 pre-apprentice and apprenticeship programs.
