"I struggled in high school." As a child, Lacey was diagnosed with Epilepsy. It really impacted my mental health. By high school, she had lost interest in her academics and just focused on the gym, the field and the shop/tech wing of her school. I came to Camosun not really knowing what I wanted to do.

She originally came to Camosun to play for theChargersand enrolled in theCivil Engineering Access program, offering insights into all the engineering disciplines.

When we touredCamosun Innovatesas part of ourMechanical Engineeringsection, I was hooked, says Lacey. I switched programs a week later.

There are so many people at Camosun that want you to succeed.

She attributes her success to the support she received from her instructors and peers. She received support from CamosunsCentre for Accessible Learningto help her with the effects of her Epilepsy. It was a relieving support, says Lacey.
