Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) - volunteers needed!

Gaining practical tax experience and helping fellow students. Volunteer with the CVITP that will be occurring at Camosun in April 2025.泭 A volunteer with the CVITP prepares income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals who have a modest income and simple tax situation.

If you would like to volunteer, follow these steps:

  • Follow the steps in this document to register with CVITP and apply for an EFILE number

Industry events for accounting and finance students

February 27, 5:30-7:30pm

Connect with Victoria-based CPAs and employers to explore career paths and opportunities in the accounting and finance sectors.泭 This networking event helps you build your accounting network and gather information for your CPA aspirations.泭 Light refreshments will be provided, however space is limited.

February 12, 5-6pm

Join us for an online Q&A session with CPABC Recruitment staff.泭 This interactive event is ideal for those who have already attended a CPABC Information Session and want to learn more about the CPA program, including admission requirements and the application process.泭 It's a great opportunity to get your questions answered and gain more insight into the program.泭

February 19, 6-8pm (in Vancouver)

Curious about pivoting into accounting but unsure how to make your mark without prior experience?泭 Join us for this event where you'll learn to highlight transferrable skills, reshape your resume and ace interviews.泭 Plus, networking with and fellow aspiring CPAs to grow your professional network.

February 25, 5:30-7pm

Designated accountants from the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Member Organizations can apply for CPAWSB IFAC Member Assessment for advanced standing into the CPA PEP.泭 CPABC and CPAWSB guest speakers will discuss academic and work experience exemptions, application steps, required documents, fees and program duration.泭 Participants will also learn about examination materials, academic and employment resources, and more in this live webinar with a Q&A session.

  • CPAEF bursaries and scholarships
    Every year CPAEF offers a bursary program to BC students based on financial need with two deadlines to apply each year: May 15 and November 15. Scholarships are also available to students attending one of eleven BC post-secondary institutions that do not have named awards: applications are due May 1.

    The Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Alberta (), the Chartered Professional Accountants Western School of Business (CPAWSB), and announce an innovative accounting education pilot for Indigenous learners.
