Calculating your GPA
You can find your unofficial GPA information on .
Your transcript of marks will show two different grade point averages:
- Term GPAis the point average of your grades over one semester
- Cumulative GPAis the point average of your grades over all the academic courses you have taken at Camosun
The GPA is calculated by converting each letter grade into Grade Points and then multiplying each grade by the number of course credits.
Here is an example:
Course | Credit | Letter Grade | Grade Points | Grade Points x Credit |
---|---|---|---|---|
C1 | 3 | A- | 7 | 7*3 = 21 |
C2 | 3 | B+ | 6 | 6*3 = 18 |
C3 | 4 | C+ | 3 | 3*4 = 12 |
C4 | 2 | A | 8 | 8*2 = 16 |
C5 | 3 | C | 2 | 2*3 = 6 |
Total | 15 | 73 |
Your GPA is = (GPA*Credit)/Total Credits. In this example, your GPA would be73/15or4.87 GPA.
