The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team needs your help!

Consultation Sessions

Camosun’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion is embedded in its mission and prioritized in its Strategic Plan 2023-2028. To animate this vision for an inclusive campus for all its members, ϳԹ is beginning work on formulating its EDI plan. We would like to request your participation in a focus group discussion with other participants to provide your perspectives on: 

  • The barriers to inclusion at Camosun

  • How we may work together to remove the barriers

  • How to better educate our campus members on EDI

  • How to strengthen and celebrate the diversity of our community.

How to Participate

More Information

Purpose

Building on extensive work that led to the creation of the EDI Policy 2018, we are seeking perspectives from the college community to identify goals and actions toward a more equitable, diverse and inclusive work and study environment for all our community members.

Voluntary Participation

Your participation is completely voluntary. You may leave the focus group discussion at any time without explanation. 

Privacy and Confidentiality

The group discussion would be audio recorded and transcribed. All records of your participation would be confidential. Only the team conducting the focus group will have access to the information you provide. Your responses will be aggregated (combined with other participants’ responses) and reported out as themes. Our conversation will adhere to BC Privacy Laws. This includes not using any identifiable information (such as names) during the discussions.  

Use of Results

The information you provide will inform Camosun’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion plan for the next 5 years. The perspectives gathered in the focus groups will be organized by themes to identify goals and actions. The draft of the plan will be shared with the college community for further feedback before being submitted for approvals.
